The ASC International Homestay Program

ASC International prides itself on a professional and thorough homestay management program.  Our Accommodation Coordinator recruits, trains, accredits and selects each homestay family and matches them specifically to each student.  Students in an ASC International homestay can take advantage of the many benefits our program can offer such as those listed below.

Interested in Hosting an International Student?

Hosting is an enjoyable and mutually rewarding experience for everyone!

Hosts play a valuable role for students living in a foreign country. Being a host with ASC International means that you are an ambassador for Australia. You’ll be there to help your students settle into the community, navigate public transport and set up a mobile. Your home will be an environment where students can improve their English skills and learn about their new country.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged, to become a homestay host. There is no one perfect profile for a homestay host and ASC International recognises that hosts come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and different family compositions.

Hosts can be singles, couples, families, single-parent families, empty nesters, the list goes on. We do not place bias on household make up, religion or culture. We focus on the host’s ability to provide a positive homestay experience for their students and pay particular attention to matching the right student to the right host.

The Homestay Host Process

  1. Online Application- submitted by host.
  2. Background Checks- A valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance must be provided for each member of the household who is 18 years or over.
  3. Home Interview and Inspection- One of our staff members will visit your home to meet you and inspect the students room and home environment. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions, discuss your expectations, learn about the placement process and get to know our staff.
